The Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department has the state-of-the-art laboratories conducive to conduct experiments. They include:

In addition, facilities such as 300kV,300kVA AC Test Transformer, 280kV Lightning Impulse Generator, 140kV Switching impulse generator, 100kV AC and 140kV DC Test Transformers, 60kV Transformer oil test kit, 60kV Partial discharge meter, Hot air oven, Measuring and calibration Sphere, Compensating reactor, Vacuum and pressure vessel chamber, Vacuum pump and air compressor, Arbitrary function generator, PLC based regenerative load test setup for Induction motor connected back to back, Computer Controlled Industrial Drives, for AC & DC, Power Quality Analyzer and Power Electronic System Simulator.
The Power Systems laboratory has augmented with facilities such as Generator Protection Simulation Study Unit, Transformer Protection Simulation Study Unit, Three Phase Energy Meter Test Bench, Relay Test Set, Electro Mechanical Type Over Current & Earth Fault Relay, Micro - Controller Based Over Current Relay, Under Voltage Relay, Negative Sequence Relay Trainer Units.
Software packages like MATLAB Academic Package, OrCAD, PSPICE, PSCAD, ETAP are available in the department for students and faculty.
ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING
The Electronics & Communication Department has the following specialized laboratories that actively support the academic and research requirements.

The communication laboratory is well equipped for conducting experiments in analog & digital modulation techniques, data communication and network analysis, wireless transceiver modules and wireless sensor nodes. This laboratory is also equipped with instruments for measurement & analysis such as mixed signal oscilloscopes, digital signal oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and Spectrum Analyzers. In order to enrich the knowledge on wireless and satellite communication, this lab is also outfitted with the equipments namely Satellite Communication Training System, Global Positioning Training System, Mobile Telephony Communication System and USRP Module.
The microwave laboratory has 12 test benches with Gunn and Klystron sources. There are 30 Antenna models for conducting experiments in radiation patterns and propagation loss analysis. The Fiber Optics Laboratory has experimenting facilities for the establishment of various communication links, measurement of power & numerical aperture and for studying the effects of various splicing techniques.
The Digital Signal Processing Laboratory houses the computing facilities supported by hardware modules. The software facilities include Matlab Total Academic Head Count package, Simulink, Xilinx Vivado Suite, Wolfram Mathematica, Multisim, LabVIEW and its toolkits such as LabVIEW PDS, Measurement studio, Image vision, LabVIEW RT, LabVIEW WDSC, PREP etc.,. This laboratory also houses hardware kits & evaluation boards with Fixed and Floating point Digital Signal Processors and OMAP Processors.
The Microcontroller laboratory is equipped with integrated development environment like KEIL µVision, AVR Studio, VMlab, IAR embedded workbench, code composer studio, microprocessors and microcontrollers (8051, Atmega8, ARM 7 with LPC 2148 & 2378, MSP430, CORTEX M3) with RTOS facilities . In addition to that the Texas Instruments, USA has sponsored embedded systems design components which provide insight to the students on 16 bit RISC Architecture using MSP430 Microcontrollers and ARM CORTEX M3.
ALTERA Semiconductors sponsored FPGA Laboratory facilitates the exploration of reconfigurable hardware in the form of Cyclone FPGAs in the Development and Education boards DE1, DE2, DE3 and DE1 – SoC to support the HDL Programming with Quartus II tool. Nexys boards help the learners to explore the features of Xilinx FPGA as well through the Xilinx Vivado Suite. The Department in collaboration with WIPRO Technologies Ltd., is outfitted with Unified Learning Kits (ULK) with DSP, ARM and FPGA Fusion under the UTLP Programme to enhance the logical & design skills of the students in their technical endeavours. This lab also houses facilities like compact reconfigurable I/O modules and ELVIS module to support high end reconfigurable solutions.
The sensor laboratory comprises facilities like DC/RF Sputtering Unit, Spray Pyrolysis, Spin & Dip Coating units, Electrospinning Unit, Autoclave, Wire Bonder, Thin Film thickness measurement unit, FTIR Spectrometer, Photoluminescence Spectrometer, Impedance Analyzer, Hall Measurement System, Gas Sensor Testing Chamber and Wireless Sensor Nodes. This lab has also augmented with device fabrication facilities such as Etching Unit, Plasma Cleaner, Mask Aligner and Screen Printer housed in clean room.

The Electronics & Instrumentation Department is well equipped with laboratories which meet the requirements of an advanced syllabus, encourages students to move beyond classroom studies and provides a solid base for quality in-house projects and offers scope for research work. They include

The Process Control laboratory has workstations for measurement and control of temperature, pressure, flow and level. In addition, the lab is equipped with facilities like Heat Exchanger, Digital Pendulum and Coupled Tank System and Coriolis Mass Flow Meter.
Software such as Labview, MATLAB, KEIL Macrovision, PSPICE, PCIM, PL7PRO, KEYENCE ladder logic are being effectively used by students.
SIM, Programming in VHDL in the area of VLSI design, helps students to go beyond syllabus requirements.
Electric Vehicle Engineering and Robotics (EVER) has a PMSM with Multi-level Inverter, OPAL-RT facility for real time simulation and FPGA based DSP board for motor control of Electric Vehicles etc
Robotics & Automation lab is equipped with wheeled mobile robots with on-board computer and sensing devices to function in real world environment. Research problems like obstacle avoidance, navigation, path planning and control are carried out in this laboratories
